Housing components as a key factor in defense technology
Housing components play a key role in defense technology: they protect sensitive mechanical and electronic components, ensure the stability of the overall structure, and must withstand extreme conditions. Whether moisture, temperature fluctuations, dust, sand, or aggressive media—the requirements are high. Corrosion resistance is therefore a decisive criterion for ensuring long-term safety and functionality.
Aluminum as a material for protection and stability
Aluminum has established itself in defense technology because it combines several advantages. It is lightweight yet stable and, thanks to its natural oxide layer, highly resistant to corrosion. When processed using the drop forging method, it also acquires a directional fiber structure that increases its load-bearing capacity. Surface treatments such as anodizing or powder coating can further increase protection while also enabling adaptation to functional or visual requirements.
Custom manufacturing according to customer drawings
KAISER Aluminium-Umformtechnik manufactures housing components exclusively according to customer drawings or in close cooperation with its clients. This means that each component is individually adapted to the respective system architecture and its requirements. Complex shapes, tight tolerances, and high dimensional accuracy are a matter of course.
Exception: Standardized AR-15 housings
The AR 15 housings are a special feature, as they are the only standardized model available in the KAISER portfolio. These were developed to give smaller companies access to high-quality forged parts without the need for high investments in their own dies. Apart from this special product, all housing parts are project-specific and individually manufactured.
Combination of forging technology and finishing
Drop forging, supplemented by CNC finishing and high-quality surface treatments, produces housing components that are extremely robust and durable. They withstand corrosive environmental influences as well as mechanical stress, thus guaranteeing the long-term functioning of military systems.
Conclusion: Corrosion protection as a strategic advantage
Corrosion-resistant housing components are more than just parts—they are a decisive factor in the reliability of modern military technology. Using aluminum as a material and forging technology as a manufacturing process, we create solutions that combine lightweight construction, stability, and protection. KAISER supports customers from the drawing board to the finished component—always individually tailored and always designed for maximum durability.
